Okay, I swore I'd never do this, and yet, I feel compelled to put a picture of my cat on my web site! But it IS understandable, as Max is the most beautiful cat in the world. At least, he seems to think so, and I have to agree with him! A gift from my ex-husband, Max is a pure-bred persian (Little Mister Maximillian Mercedes), and has the pompous attitude to prove his bloodline! (I'm sorry, did I say "pompous attitude?" I meant "regal demeanour!")

He IS beautiful, and usually regal, though he is given to bouts of undignified behaviour when he thinks no one is looking! He loves to "fetch" - if we throw a cigarette pack, he will chase it down and bring it back for us to throw again. And again. And again. And - well, you get the idea. If there is more than one person in the room, he will bring it to each person in turn, apparently testing our pitching skills! If someone throws it badly, into a flower pot, or somewhere he can't reach, that person usually doesn't get another try! His other favourite toy is my printer. Whenever I am printing, he stops what he's doing, comes over, and just STARES at the printer. Before I moved my printer off of my desk, he would get up on the desk and stick his little paw IN the printer, trying to catch whatever was in there, I guess. Unfortunately it usually just caused the paper to jam...

SPRING UPDATE: Max celebrated his fourth birthday in March with a tuna cake with anchovy icing! His big ol' pumpkin head is growing ever larger; he is up to a 14 inch dog collar! Speaking of dogs, he has taken to smacking them around, knowing full well that they will get in trouble if they attempt to defend themselves. His latest favourite perching spot is on my scanner, where he has a good view of the mirror - he loves to stare at his beautiful self.

WINTER UPDATE: Every season (and sometimes every week!) brings a new perching spot. At the moment it is on the entertainment center, atop a pile of books. Go figure. His latest hobby has been stealing the kids' Cheerios. I finally started giving him his own little bowl, complete with milk, so he'll leave theirs alone!
